The issue of appointing a new speaker became relevant immediately after Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu announced his resignation from the position.
However, Deputy Nilufar Alimjanova expressed the opinion that this proposal does not meet moral standards and called for a discussion. As a result, the deputies agreed to take a break for a more detailed consideration of the issue.
Currently, various parliamentary groups, such as "Adilet Kyrgyzstan," "Ala-Too," "Ata-Zhurt," "Mekenchil," and "Eldik," are holding their meetings for consultations and nominating candidates for the position of speaker.
In addition, Deputy Eru lan Kokulov appealed to the future speaker with a request to ensure freedom of speech for the deputies, not turning off their microphones, even if their statements may be uncomfortable. He also emphasized the importance of being able to ask questions to members of the cabinet without any restrictions from the leadership.
