Southwest Airlines has confirmed its intention to equip its entire fleet of aircraft with Starlink technology. The first aircraft with the new equipment will begin operations this summer, and by the end of 2026, the system will be installed on more than 300 aircraft. Wi-Fi from Starlink will be free for all passengers.
“Starlink creates a cozy atmosphere in the air, allowing our customers to stream content from any platform, follow live sports events, download music, play games, work, and communicate with loved ones throughout the flight,” commented Tony Roach, Executive Vice President and Chief Customer and Brand Officer of Southwest Airlines.
