- The February report published on the website of the U.S. Department of Agriculture states that the forecast for wheat harvest in Russia and Kazakhstan remains unchanged compared to the January estimate.

According to the data, Russia is expected to harvest 89.5 million tons, while Kazakhstan is projected to harvest 18.9 million tons. In the previous agricultural season, these figures were 81.6 million tons and 18.6 million tons, respectively.

Reference information:

The U.S. Department of Agriculture provides its forecasts not by calendar year, but by the so-called "marketing year" — the period during which the harvest is marketed. For each crop in each of the major producing countries, this period is calculated individually.

For Russian wheat, the marketing year spans 12 months, starting from July of the current year and ending in June of the following year. In Kazakhstan, this period lasts from September to August of the following year.

For Kyrgyzstan, a significant portion of imported wheat comes specifically from these two countries.
