- The projected wheat harvest in Russia for the 2025/26 year is expected to reach 89.5 million tons, which is 2% higher compared to estimates made in December.

Of this volume, 63.0 million tons will be winter wheat and 26.5 million tons will be spring wheat.

It is forecasted that the yield will be a record 3.4 tons per hectare, which is 16% higher than the previous season. The total area to be harvested will be 26.3 million hectares, which is 5% less than last year.

The methodology of the U.S. Department of Agriculture takes into account the exports of each country by marketing year, rather than by calendar year. This period is defined as the time when the harvest is marketed.

The marketing year for each exporting country is calculated individually. In the case of Russian wheat, it covers 12 months from July of the current year to June of the following year. Accordingly, for the 2025/26 season, it starts on July 1, 2025, and ends on June 30, 2026.

In 2025, Russia ranked second in the volume of wheat supplies to Kyrgyzstan, accounting for one-third of all imports.
