
From January to September 2025, the CIS countries produced 409.2 million tons of coal, including both hard and brown coal.
This is 1.3% more compared to the same period last year.
Russia remains the leader in volume, having extracted 314.1 million tons. Kazakhstan ranks second, with a figure of 84.6 million tons of coal over the nine months.
Kyrgyzstan produced 2.9 million tons during the same period, which is 6.3% higher than last year's results. Kyrgyzstan's share in the total coal production of the CIS countries is about 0.71%.
As for other countries in the region, Uzbekistan produced 5.6 million tons of coal, while Tajikistan extracted approximately 2 million tons.
