Coal imports from Mongolia to China increased by 20% in October compared to the same period last year, attributed to a decrease in production volumes in China and rising coal prices.

According to data from the General Customs Administration of Mongolia, the country exported 7.76 million tons of coal to China this month, which is still lower than the record set in September when 9.29 million tons were shipped.

According to industry experts' forecasts, by 2025, coal imports to China may decrease to 100 million tons.

Coal imports from three other key countries also fell year-on-year, resulting in an overall 10% reduction in coal imports to China in October.

The most significant decline was observed in supplies from Russia, which decreased by 18% compared to last year, totaling 6.79 million tons.
