In Suusamyr, the extraction of the bodies of 20 sheep from under the avalanche has been completed, and the search for the missing shepherd has been temporarily suspended.

According to information provided by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, search and rescue operations in the Boroondoo pasture of the Jayil district in the Chui region were halted due to the onset of night.

During today's operation, 55 people participated in the search. As a result of the efforts, the bodies of 20 sheep were discovered under the snow mass. So far, 30 heads of livestock have been found from the total herd.

Rescuers spent the night in the shepherds' house, which is located 5 kilometers below the avalanche zone. Local residents who participated in the search have returned to their permanent places of residence. The resumption of search operations is scheduled for the morning of February 15.

Turmush reported that the incident occurred on February 12. A 59-year-old man was caught under the snow mass; at the time of the avalanche, he was on horseback and herding about 50 sheep.

Search activities have been conducted without interruption since the signal about the incident was received. The situation is under the control of the Minister of Emergency Situations, Lieutenant General Boobek Azhikeev.
