Stefan Winkelmann announced that Lamborghini is abandoning the creation of fully electric cars, focusing instead on hybrid models with the ability to charge from the grid. If customers are satisfied, by 2030 the entire model range will be replaced with hybrids. At the same time, Winkelmann stated that the production of internal combustion engine vehicles will continue "for as long as possible."

In his opinion, investments in electric vehicles, when the market and consumers are not yet ready for it, have become a financially inefficient solution and a "costly hobby" for the company. Hybrid cars, according to Winkelmann, combine the advantages of both types: the emotionality and power of internal combustion engines and the maneuverability of electric vehicles at low speeds.

In 2025, Lamborghini set a record by selling 10,747 cars. The company believes that this success was achieved thanks to a hybridization strategy that received high praise from customers in Europe and North America. In particular, this refers to the release of new hybrid models, such as the supercar Revuelto and Temerario.
