In the city of Osh, a school has been renamed in honor of Absamat Masaliev

On February 25, a ceremony was held in Osh dedicated to the naming of secondary school No. 7 after the famous statesman Absamat Masaliev. The building of the educational institution has been renovated and is now officially opened after major repairs.

Tynchtykbek Dosmuratov, head of the education department of the city of Osh, reported that 4,615 students are currently studying at the school named after Absamat Masaliev. “The first building was constructed in 1981, and the second one in 2020. Since the construction of the three-story building, no major repairs had been carried out. Now, after the completion of the work, the school has completely transformed: it meets modern standards and provides all the necessary conditions for safe and comfortable learning,” he noted.



According to information from the Department of Capital Construction of the Osh City Hall, the repair work was carried out by the company OsOO "Comfort House Group." The total cost of the project exceeded 82 million soms, and the funding was provided from the republican budget. The work began in August 2025 and was completed in December of the same year.

The head and founder of OsOO "Comfort House Group" is Turgunbaev Seitek Turgunbaevich. This company was registered on June 3, 2025, and underwent re-registration on July 30, 2025. Its main area of activity is the construction of residential and non-residential buildings.

Absamat Masaliev was born on April 10, 1933, in Alysh, located in the Kadamjai district. He passed away on July 31, 2004.

In 1953, he graduated from the Kyzyl-Kiy Mining Technical School, in 1956 from the Moscow Mining Institute, and in 1964 from the Almaty Higher Party School.

A. Masaliev went through a significant career path, starting as an assistant to the mine chief and reaching high positions in the public and political life of the republic. Since 1956, he held various positions, including deputy chief engineer of the mine and party control inspector. He then worked as head of the industrial and transport department of the Osh regional party committee and first secretary of the Tash-Kumyr city party committee.

From 1972 to 1985, Masaliev was the chairman of the Frunze City Executive Committee and secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan. Then, from 1985 to 1991, he held the positions of inspector of the Central Committee of the CPSU and first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan.

From 1993 to 1996, he served as the director of the State Mining and Industrial Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Masaliev made a significant contribution to the development of state construction. He was a member of the Central Committee of the CPSU and the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, as well as a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR. Since 2000, he has been a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In addition, he held the position of chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan and was the deputy chairman of the council of the SKP–CPSU.

For his merits, A. Masaliev was awarded several orders, including the Order of the October Revolution and the Order of "Manas" III degree.

The rural district named after Masaliev was established in 1996. It is located at an altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level, about 35 km from the district center, and includes such villages as Kara-Dobo and Olagysh. The population of the district is about 13,000 people, and it has 5 schools, 1 kindergarten, and several medical institutions.
