Bolot Otunbaev: Kyrgyzstan - one of the founders of the SCO

At the event dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Muratbek Sansyzbaevich, Bolot Otunbaev noted that his contribution to the formation of the national diplomatic service is beyond doubt and is widely recognized among politicians and public figures.

Emphasizing the importance of this event, he said: "The diplomatic community, political circles, and representatives of the public are actively celebrating the anniversary of Muratbek Sansyzbaevich."

Otunbaev also reminded that Muratbek Imanaliev played a key role in the establishment of Kyrgyz diplomacy during critical moments of gaining independence, repeatedly heading the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and making significant contributions to the development of the country's foreign policy service.

He added that 2023 is a significant year as Kyrgyzstan is chairing the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. "Muratbek Sansyzbaevich served as the Secretary-General of the SCO and made considerable contributions to its development," the ambassador noted.

Kyrgyzstan, along with Russia, China, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan, was one of the founders of this organization, which was initially known as the "Shanghai Five" and later transformed into the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Furthermore, Otunbaev highlighted the honoree's contribution to the development of diplomats, noting that he was one of the first leaders of the Information and Analytical Center of the Diplomatic Academy and had a significant influence on the formation of educational programs for future diplomats.

His role in the establishment of independent Kyrgyz diplomacy is enduring, and it is difficult to overestimate his achievements.

Today, young diplomats, as well as veterans of the service, congratulate Muratbek Sansyzbaevich, wishing him health, happiness, and continued active engagement.

"I hope that he will continue to share his experience with the younger generation of diplomats and write memoirs that will occupy an important place in the history of the Kyrgyz Republic," concluded Bolot Otunbaev.
