President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov announced plans to achieve self-sufficiency in socially significant products at a republican meeting held in "Yntymak Ordo." According to him, at the moment the republic independently provides itself with six out of nine main types of food, which is an important indicator of the country's food security and sustainability. Previously, a significant portion of these goods was imported. "We are aiming for complete self-sufficiency in the remaining three types of products, which will allow us to eliminate imports," the president noted.
The meeting in "Yntymak Ordo" was held to summarize the work for 2025 and gathered important political figures, including members of the cabinet, heads of state institutions, presidential representatives in the regions, mayors of Bishkek and Osh, as well as district akims.
