The process of verifying the connections of Kazakh officials with financier Jeffrey Epstein began even before Askat Rakhimzhanov's appeal to the Prosecutor General's Office.

Berik Asylov emphasized that the prosecutor's office had already conducted an analysis of this situation, as reported by Exclusive.kz.

“This issue was discussed at the international level. Therefore, we, as the Prosecutor General's Office, along with other agencies, are checking whether such facts took place,” he added in a video presented on Tengrinews.kz.

The question remains open as to whether the results of this verification will be published if they contain the names of current officials.

Recall that earlier, Askat Rakhimzhanov expressed the need to verify the connections of former high-ranking officials of Kazakhstan with Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of sexual crimes against minors. In his request, he noted that the published materials mention representatives of the political elite of the "old Kazakhstan." In particular, among them is the former head of the National Security Committee Karim Massimov, who is currently serving a sentence for treason and an attempted coup. He is mentioned eight times in Epstein's files.
