On March 3, on the A310 highway in the Chelyabinsk region, employees of the Ural Interregional Directorate of Rosselkhoznadzor, together with customs services, stopped two large batches of planting material near the MAPP "Bugristoye".

The trucks, coming from Kyrgyzstan, were carrying a significant number of seedlings. One of the vehicles was transporting 72,100 seedlings of various plants, including cherry, pear, plum, thuja, sweet cherry, roses, and strawberry rootstocks, heading to the Nizhny Novgorod region with a planned unloading in Kirov. The second truck was carrying 160,000 seedlings, among which were pears, apple trees, mulberries, sweet cherries, roses, and gladiolus bulbs, intended for delivery to the Republic of Mari El, where unloading was planned in Moscow.

During the document inspection, inspectors noticed violations: the labeling of some plants lacked information about the place and plot of origin, which did not comply with the requirements of the EAEU legislation in the field of plant quarantine.

The import of such seedlings into Russia is prohibited, as dangerous diseases or pests may be introduced under the guise of healthy plants.

As a result, Rosselkhoznadzor officials drew up acts and orders for return, and both trucks were sent back under the supervision of the agency.

The record of Rosselkhoznadzor stopping over 230,000 seedlings from Kyrgyzstan first appeared on the K-News website.
