At a recent coordination meeting dedicated to the preparation for the agricultural census, Erlis Akunbekov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan, appealed to citizens to provide accurate data on livestock numbers.

According to the minister, the reluctance to report the number of livestock and poultry may stem from a misunderstanding of the census's objectives. Citizens may fear that this will lead to denial of social benefits or increased taxes.

Akunbekov emphasized that reliable data on livestock numbers is necessary for effective planning of veterinary measures and vaccination, which, in turn, contributes to the health of agricultural animals.

He also noted that the results of the census are critical for developing adequate agricultural policy and planning the national economy in the country.

The agricultural census in Kyrgyzstan will take place from March 20 to April 10. Local self-government bodies and territorial statistical services will be involved in its implementation.

During the census, data will be collected on sown areas, pastures, farm buildings, as well as the number of livestock and poultry.

The record "The Minister of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan calls for honesty in the agricultural census" was first published on K-News.
