On March 10, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Erlis Akunbekov held a meeting to discuss the upcoming agricultural census in the republic.

He noted that some citizens may not fully understand the objectives of the census, which could lead to reluctance to disclose information about the number of livestock, poultry, or the condition of their farms. This is due to a mistaken belief that providing such information could result in denial of social benefits or the imposition of taxes.

“There is no need to fear that the census in any way threatens social benefits or will create tax obligations,” the minister assured.

Akunbekov also emphasized that the results of the census are extremely important for accurately accounting for livestock in the country. They are necessary for organizing timely vaccinations of animals, planning veterinary activities, and ensuring an adequate supply of vaccines.

In this regard, Erlis Akunbekov urged citizens to provide complete and accurate information about the condition of their farms, the number of livestock, and the area of their land.

The agricultural census in Kyrgyzstan will take place from March 20 to April 10. Local self-government bodies and territorial statistics departments will participate in its implementation.

During the census, an account will be made of the sown areas of households, pastures, agricultural buildings, yards, as well as the number of livestock and poultry.
