In 2025, Kazakhstan exported over 100 thousand tons of meat, generating around 265 million dollars, as reported by Ulysmedia.kz, citing inbuisness.kz.

According to data from the Bureau of National Statistics, the highest profit for the country came from beef exports. During the specified period, 32.2 thousand tons were sent to foreign markets, amounting to approximately 127 million dollars. The average export price reached about 3.9 dollars per kilogram, which is equivalent to 2000 tenge.

However, there are some anomalies in the reports. Industry analysts point out that part of the Kazakh beef is sold abroad at significantly lower prices—sometimes less than 2 dollars per kilogram, which is about 1000 tenge. At the same time, the price of beef in the domestic market is significantly higher, and in stores, a kilogram can reach 4-6 thousand tenge. Experts explain that the average export price is formed by various shipments. A small portion of companies sells premium cuts of marbled beef, where the price can reach 13-14 dollars per kilogram.

There is also a group of suppliers that send meat in half-carcasses to Central Asian countries at a price of about 6-8 dollars per kilogram. However, a significant portion of the exports is carried out at much lower prices. According to specialists' estimates, about half of the exported beef may be sold for 2 dollars per kilogram. Experts emphasize that such a discrepancy between domestic and export prices raises questions and requires attention from government bodies.

Overall, in 2025, Kazakhstan also exported 34.5 thousand tons of lamb worth 81 million dollars and nearly 32 thousand tons of poultry meat worth 52.6 million dollars. Additionally, small volumes of pork and horse meat were also sent abroad. At the same time, the country imports more meat than it exports. Last year, Kazakhstan purchased about 164 thousand tons of meat for approximately 295 million dollars, the majority of which was chicken.
