President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov commented on the recent statements made by the deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Elvira Surabaldiyeva regarding complaints from businessmen about pressure from certain law enforcement officials and issues related to property transferred to the state.
Surabaldiyeva noted that the parliament receives appeals from entrepreneurs indicating instances of pressure and illegal seizure of property. Many of them, however, are afraid to file official complaints.
“Some entrepreneurs report such cases, but many are afraid to make official appeals. If such statements are received, I am ready to pass them directly to the president,” the deputy emphasized.
She also suggested making an official list of the property returned to the state available, so it would be clear which part was transferred voluntarily and which as a result of the actions of investigative bodies.
In response to this statement, President Japarov said that he instructed law enforcement agencies to accept all citizens' appeals and conduct thorough investigations.
“I instructed the General Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the State Committee for National Security to accept statements and examine them carefully. If any employees have indeed illegally appropriated property or money from entrepreneurs, they must be returned to the owners,” the president noted.
Sadyr Japarov also added that a complete list of property transferred to the state will be published after the audit is completed.
According to him, this concerns not only monetary funds but also various assets such as land plots, buildings, kindergartens, and enterprises.
“After the audit is completed, we will report the exact amount and the full list of property. This may take some time, as it is necessary to check all objects,” he added.
