The Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Marlen Mamataliyev, met with Ramil Hasan, the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TurkPA). This was reported by the parliament's press service.

During the meeting, Mamataliyev emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy for strengthening ties between Turkic peoples, noting that the new composition of the Jogorku Kenesh is interested in active cooperation with the parliaments of the TurkPA member states and the implementation of joint projects.

He also reminded about the upcoming plenary session of TurkPA, which will take place in Kyrgyzstan this autumn. "I am confident that this event will serve as a platform for productive negotiations and will allow us to reach agreements that contribute to the development of relations between our peoples," added the speaker.

Ramil Hasan, for his part, shared information about current projects and plans of the Assembly, and noted that serious work is being prepared for the autumn session.

Additionally, he spoke about the upcoming informal meeting of the heads of parliaments of the participating countries, discussing the main issues that will be addressed at this meeting.

During the discussion, the topic of developing partnerships with other parliamentary organizations was also raised, including opportunities for cooperation with inter-parliamentary associations not only in the region but also in Europe and Latin America.

It is important to note that TurkPA was established in 2008 and includes the parliaments of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey. Representatives from the parliaments of Hungary, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan also actively participate in the Assembly's events.
