As of January-February, Kyrgyzstan's GDP grew by 8.8% compared to last year's data.

Preliminary data shows that the gross domestic product of Kyrgyzstan in January-February 2026 amounted to 264.1 billion soms, which is 8.8% higher than in the same period of 2025. The GDP includes 49.9% services, 31.1% goods production, and 19.0% net taxes on products, according to the National Statistical Committee.

Industrial Sector. Compared to January-February 2025, industrial growth was driven by an increase in the production of chemical products (by 3.1 times), pharmaceuticals (by 1.7 times), as well as rubber products and construction materials. There is also growth in the production of vehicles (by 42.4%), food products, tobacco products (by 16.8%), refined petroleum products (by 18.2%), and basic metals (by 11.1%). The extraction of mineral resources increased by 47.2%. At the same time, there is a decrease in the supply of electricity, gas, and steam by 7.8% due to a reduction in electricity production by 14.1%.

The volumes of water supply and wastewater treatment increased due to a 9.9% growth in water collection and distribution.

Agriculture. The production of gross output in agriculture, forestry, and fishing increased due to a 2.6% growth in livestock production compared to the same period in 2025.

Construction Sector. The growth of gross output in construction was ensured by an increase in investments in fixed capital.

Commerce. The turnover of wholesale and retail trade, as well as the repair of cars and motorcycles, increased mainly due to the growth in retail (by 14.3%) and wholesale trade (by 9.1%) compared to the same period of the previous year.

Investments in Construction. The volume of investments in fixed capital increased by 11.5% due to the growth of internal funding sources, while the volume of external sources decreased by 26.3%. More than 80% of all investments in January-February 2026 were directed towards the construction of facilities in the mining industry, manufacturing, as well as in the fields of electricity supply, gas, and housing construction.

Foreign Trade. In January 2026, the volume of foreign and mutual trade of the Kyrgyz Republic increased by 6.1% compared to January 2025. In the structure of trade turnover, exports accounted for 12.0%, while imports accounted for 88.0%. The volume of mutual trade with the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union grew by 11.3% and amounted to 396.8 million USD, despite a 15.7% decrease in export deliveries and a 17.8% increase in imports. The main partners in mutual trade are Russia (68.6%) and Kazakhstan (29.0%). Foreign trade with third countries decreased by 2.9% and amounted to 656.1 million USD, accounting for 62.3% of the total trade turnover of the republic.

Prices and Tariffs. In January-February 2026, the increase in consumer prices was 1.9% compared to December 2025. Alcoholic and tobacco products rose by 2.2%, food and non-alcoholic beverages by 2.1%, non-food goods by 0.4%, and tariffs for services to the population by 3.6%. In February, there was a sharp increase in prices for fresh vegetables (by 10.4%), fruits (by 4.0%), potatoes (by 3.8%), and dairy products (by 3.6%). At the same time, prices for animal fats and flour decreased by 0.8% and 0.3%, respectively.

The rise in consumer prices and tariffs in January-February was observed in all regions of the country, with the maximum increase in the Issyk-Kul region at 4.2%. In February, the price increase was 1.2%, with food prices rising by 1.1% and service tariffs by 2.9%. The highest price increases for fresh vegetables (by 5.3%) and fruits (by 3.2%) were also noted in February.

Wages. January 2026 showed an increase in the average nominal wage in enterprises across all sectors compared to January 2025. The most noticeable growth was observed in administrative and support activities (by 49.4%), healthcare (by 35.8%), and the scientific sector (by 27.8%).
