The Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Marlen Mamataliyev, held a meeting with Hugh Riddell, head of the World Bank Group's office in Kyrgyzstan.
According to the press service of the parliament, Mamataliyev emphasized the importance of partnership with the World Bank and the successful implementation of numerous projects in the republic.
He expressed interest in further deepening cooperation in areas such as ecology, climate change, and improving mountain policy. The Speaker noted that the Jogorku Kenesh pays special attention to exchanging opinions and recommendations on relevant legislative issues.
As an example, he cited the need to refine legislation in the field of public procurement.
Riddell, in turn, shared his views on this matter and confirmed his readiness to propose improvements to the existing law.
The discussion also addressed the development of legislation in the area of public procurement and recent amendments that have been made.
