The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported the initiation of a criminal case in connection with possible corrupt actions at the OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz." This decision was a result of the emergence of video materials in the media, prepared by the State Tax Service under the Cabinet of Ministers, titled "Oil for Themselves: How 'Kyrgyzneftegaz' Was Ruined."

The investigation revealed that company employees, using their official powers, could have colluded with a number of affiliated companies to create illegal schemes for the sale and distribution of fuel and lubricants.

As noted by representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, despite the fact that OJSC "Kyrgyzneftegaz" is a strategically important entity and is state-owned, the individuals conducting these actions acted contrary to the interests of the state and society.

Furthermore, the agency pointed out the creation of favorable conditions for the operation of certain affiliated companies against the backdrop of rising prices for fuel and lubricants in the country, instead of taking necessary measures to stabilize the situation. The investigation believes that such actions could have been aimed at obtaining illegal profits, including tax evasion and other mandatory payments.

The criminal case has been opened under Article 336 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic "Corruption."

Currently, as reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, investigative actions are being carried out with the involvement of specialists from the State Tax Service, aimed at clarifying all the circumstances of the case and holding those responsible accountable.
