During the Nowruz celebration in Naryn, President Sadyr Japarov announced significant efforts aimed at improving the irrigation system in the region. Despite Naryn being located in a mountainous valley and receiving water resources from the surrounding mountains, the issue of effective irrigation remains pressing.
As the head of state noted, over the past five years, approximately 3 billion soms have been allocated for the modernization of irrigation infrastructure. As part of these initiatives, restoration, leveling, and concreting of channels have been carried out, along with major repairs of hydraulic structures, pumping stations, and hydroposts.
“This year, the commissioning of the Tugol-Sai reservoir in Jumgal and the Shamsy BDR in Kochkor is planned. This will improve irrigation on 4,294 hectares and also provide water supply for the irrigation of an additional 3,306 hectares of new land,” the president emphasized.
