During the celebration of Nowruz in Naryn, President Sadyr Japarov emphasized the importance of agriculture for the region, where livestock farming plays a central role. He noted that this area cannot ignore this vital sector of the economy.
According to statements from the head of state, livestock farming is the foundation for meat and milk production, and in recent years there has been an increase in both livestock numbers and production volumes.
“In the Naryn region, projects with a total cost of about 2 billion soms are being implemented, aimed at creating clusters in the fields of meat, milk, honey, feed, and fruit and vegetable products. It is particularly noteworthy that honey produced in Naryn is exported to countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, and Japan,” Japarov added.
Speaking about the region's problems, the president pointed out the existing difficulties with irrigation, despite Naryn being located in a mountainous valley and receiving water from high-altitude sources. Over the past five years, about 3 billion soms have been invested in the irrigation system.
As part of these activities, work has been carried out to restore and concrete channels, as well as repair hydraulic engineering stations, pumping stations, and hydroposts.
“This year, the commissioning of the Tugol-Sai reservoirs in Jumgal and the Shamsy BDR in Kochkor is expected, which will improve irrigation conditions for 4,294 hectares, and an additional 3,306 hectares of new land will gain access to irrigation,” the president concluded.
