Currently, the reconstruction of the bypass road around Issyk-Kul, which runs from the village of Barskoon to the city of Karakol (km 141–216), is actively underway. The contractor has deployed 143 units of special equipment, and all mobilization works have already been completed.

At this moment, work is being carried out to widen the shoulders, install drainage ditches, and mill the road surface.

It is worth noting that in 2025, the reconstruction of the Barskoon-Karakol road, which is 75 km long, began in the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region. As part of this project, the construction of five bridges, eight underground passages, as well as the arrangement of sidewalks and a lighting system in populated areas is planned. This information is provided by the Ministry of Transport.

It is expected that the construction work will be completed between 2025 and 2028, and the warranty for the completed work will be five years.

This project aims to improve the transport infrastructure in the region, increase tourist flows, and create more comfortable conditions for local residents.
