According to a report by Bloomberg, Japanese authorities are strongly urging the public not to panic and hoard toilet paper.

Social media reports indicate that people are starting to stock up on essential goods due to concerns about a potential conflict in the Middle East.

The accumulation of toilet paper became a noticeable trend in Japan during the oil crisis of 1973, which led to the first economic downturn after World War II. Similar situations also arose after the earthquake and tsunami in 2011, as well as during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan has recommended that consumers make informed and rational decisions when purchasing toilet paper.
