An important event took place in Kyrgyzstan: President Sadyr Japarov shared on his Facebook page that the country has begun printing its national currency — the som — independently for the first time. Previously, this process was carried out outside the country, which incurred printing costs.
“Now we have reached a level where we can not only print the som but also fulfill orders for printing currency for other countries,” the president noted.
In addition, Kyrgyzstan has received an international certificate confirming the high standards and requirements that are met in the production of banknotes.

The country is ready to issue not only currency but also other documents for foreign states.
Currently, orders have already been received from several countries, and thanks to the availability of the certificate, the protection of the products is at the highest level. This makes counterfeiting impossible, while prices remain affordable,” the head of state added.
