According to Turmush, the incident happened on March 27, 2026, around 15:00. Preliminary data indicates that a 35-year-old driver of a "Mercedes-Benz E420" with the initials M.D.B. was traveling east on the highway when another road user, a 44-year-old M.U.E. in a "Volkswagen Passat," was making a turn from the left side of the road.
In an attempt to avoid a collision with the oncoming "Volkswagen," the "Mercedes" driver made a sharp maneuver, crossing into the oncoming traffic lane through a gap in the median barrier. As a result, a head-on collision occurred with a "Renault Samsung SM6," driven by a 35-year-old J.K.A.
Both drivers—M.D.B. and J.K.A.—died at the scene from their injuries. Currently, efforts are underway to establish the identities of all participants in the incident and to clarify the number of injured.
Information about this incident has been registered with the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul region. Investigative authorities have already appointed the necessary examinations, and measures are currently being taken to ascertain all circumstances and causes of the tragedy.
