During his working visit to Kazakhstan, Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev participated in the expanded meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

According to the Prime Minister's office, the meeting, which included more than ten agenda items, gathered the heads of governments of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union: the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, as well as the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and heads of delegations from observer states in the Union, including the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

Speaking at the meeting, Kasymaliev expressed gratitude to the Kazakh side, which is chairing the EAEU bodies this year, for the warm welcome, and emphasized the key social and economic indicators of the Union over the past five years, discussing a number of relevant issues.

“Compared to 2020, GDP growth of the member states is expected by the end of 2025 in all Union countries. During this period, there has been an increase in the volume of mutual trade in goods between countries. The Kyrgyz Republic has also seen economic growth over the past five years. All of this confirms that the strategy has had a significant impact on determining the right directions for cooperation among our countries,” he noted.

Kasymaliev also emphasized the importance of implementing a coordinated policy in the area of labor migration, as provided for in the EAEU Treaty, and ensuring the free movement of labor.

“However, despite this, when developing national legislative initiatives in this sensitive area, it is not always possible to ensure full interaction and coordination between states. I propose to create a permanent platform for consultations at the level of department heads on migration policy issues,” he added.

The head of the cabinet also drew attention to the relevance of issues related to the efficiency of logistics. According to him, digital technologies ensure transparency and accelerate logistics processes. In some cases, control measures may be carried out at goods delivery points, and additional tax charges may also be applied, including measures such as confiscation and destruction of goods.

In addition, issues related to the implementation of the Roadmap for the Declaration of Development “Eurasian Economic Path,” which sets ambitious goals for the Union, were discussed. Important aspects of current cooperation were also outlined at the meeting.

“Digital transformation, industrial cooperation, and innovation are three key areas for the development of the Union. We need to consistently develop modern infrastructure, prepare highly qualified personnel, and improve the regulatory framework. I am confident that the decisions made today will contribute to the further prosperity of our Union,” he concluded.

At the upcoming meetings of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in both narrow and expanded formats, 13 issues were considered, and several documents were signed.

The decision to hold the next meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in the Kyrgyz Republic is scheduled for August of this year. ```
