The prevalence of cavities among the population in Kyrgyzstan ranges from 93% to 97%, with children being particularly vulnerable. This was reported by Abibilla Kalbaev, president of the Dental Association of the Kyrgyz Republic, during a broadcast on Birinchi Radio.
According to him, cavities are the leading issue among dental diseases. Periodontal diseases are in second place, affecting about 80% of the adult population of the country.
Kalbaev noted that there are both positive aspects and areas needing improvement in the dental care system of Kyrgyzstan. In recent years, there has been an increasing emphasis on the prevention of oral diseases.
He emphasized that preventive measures help to prevent the development of diseases and reduce the burden on the healthcare system. In this context, the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic has developed a program for the prevention of dental diseases.
