The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic refuted information about women in labor in the corridors of the Reproductive Center

The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic has published a statement regarding rumors that appeared on social media claiming that women in labor are allegedly in the corridors of the Kyrgyz Scientific Center for Human Reproduction.

According to the Ministry of Health, the photographs that caused public concern were taken in the summer of 2025, when the City Perinatal Center was closed for repairs, which led to a sharp increase in the load on the Center.

Currently, the Reproductive Center has modernized its postpartum department, adding beds and creating comfortable conditions for women in labor.

The Center is designed for 80 beds, but at the moment there are 106 patients, as the institution is a third-level medical facility serving women with complicated pregnancies from all regions of the country.

The director of the Center, Nurgul Shoonaeva, noted that in 2025, the number of births increased by 1,000 compared to the previous year, highlighting the growing burden on the maternity care system.

The Ministry of Health also stated that all women receive the necessary medical assistance based on their indications, and no refusals for hospitalization have been recorded.

Despite the emerging difficulties, the staff of the Center work around the clock and take all measures to ensure safety and high quality of medical services, as emphasized in the agency's message.
