In the Kyrgyz Republic, citizens are deceived with promises of healing through dietary supplements, which are not medicines

The head of the licensing department of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan, Aman Osmonov, stated in the program "Elden Sobol" of the "Kabar" agency that many herbal mixtures offered by folk healers are not actual medicinal products but rather dietary supplements (DS).

According to Osmonov, fraudsters exploit the trust of citizens, presenting dietary supplements as medicines and promising complete healing, which allows them to profit from this deception. For a product to be classified as a medicine, it must undergo strict testing, including registration and scientific research on animals and humans.

The specialist noted that before importing dietary supplements into the country, laboratory tests must be conducted to determine their composition and effectiveness. The use of such supplements is only permitted after obtaining the appropriate certificate of state registration.

"I recommend that citizens carefully verify information, ensure the presence of licenses, and the legality of such specialists' work before consulting them," added Aman Osmonov.
