Deputy Gulnara Baatyrova raised the issue of the reuse of opened canisters with acid for hemodialyzers at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh committee. In response, Health Minister Damir Osmonov stated that after a canister is opened, crystallization of the solution may occur within 24 hours, which poses a danger to the equipment and makes it impractical to store the leftovers.
Osmonov also clarified that one canister has a volume of 10 liters. On average, 6 liters are used for one patient's procedure, leaving 4 liters that could be used for another patient.
