The incident occurred near the city of Gelida when a train collided with a collapsed retaining wall that fell onto the tracks after heavy rain, as reported by El Mundo.
This is not the only incident in the Catalonia region: about 130 passengers of a high-speed train were trapped in a tunnel due to a malfunction in the contact network. Additionally, 30 passengers of a second train passing near Fornells de la Selva were evacuated due to a fallen tree on the tracks.
Three days ago, there was also a derailment of a high-speed train carrying 300 passengers, which resulted in the tragic death of 40 people.
