Two high-speed trains derailed in southern Spain, more than 20 people died
A tragedy occurred in southern Spain: two high-speed trains derailed, resulting in the deaths of more than 20 people, reports RTVE.

The incident took place in Adamuz, in the province of Córdoba. According to media reports, the first train to derail was traveling from Malaga to Madrid. This train moved onto the opposite tracks, where another train was traveling at that time. The collision caused both trains to derail.

According to one passenger, the force of the impact was comparable to an earthquake, as reported by the media.

Preliminary data indicates that about 400 people were on both trains. Train services in the area have been temporarily suspended.

"The information coming in at the moment is extremely serious," noted Spain's Minister of Transport Oscar Puente on social media platform X.

Rescue teams continue to extract passengers who are unable to leave the carriages on their own.
