
According to local media, such as aktuality.sk, no one died as a result of the incident; however, dozens of people were injured. As of the morning of November 10, 20 of them had been hospitalized.
The collision occurred when one train traveling from Bratislava crashed into the rear of another train that was moving from Nitra.
At the time of the accident, according to data from the Slovak Ministry of Interior, there were about 800 passengers on board, most of whom were students.
The President of Slovakia, Peter Pellegrini, expressed his wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured and noted the high professionalism of the emergency services.
This accident was the second in the past month on the country's railways: on October 13, a collision between two trains in eastern Slovakia resulted in about 100 people being injured.
