UPS cargo plane crashes in the USA - 7 dead, 11 injured

A tragedy occurred at Muhammad Ali International Airport in Louisville, Kentucky — a UPS Airlines cargo plane crashed. According to AP News, the incident happened shortly after takeoff.

Preliminary information indicates that the left engine of the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 caught fire, leading to a loss of control and the crash. The aircraft fell onto several buildings, fuel tanks, and numerous cars, causing a large fire at the scene. According to The Guardian, at least seven people died as a result of the disaster, and another 11 were injured to varying degrees.

Authorities in the region temporarily closed the airport and cordoned off the surrounding areas. Residents within an eight-kilometer radius were advised to stay in their homes.

Currently, specialists from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the causes of this aviation disaster.
