Among the victims is a 12-year-old child
A tragedy occurred in the Turkish city of Gebze: rescuers recovered the bodies of two deceased individuals from the rubble of a six-story building that collapsed, as reported by TRT Haber.
According to local emergency services, one of the victims was a 12-year-old boy.
This morning, a six-story residential building collapsed in the eastern part of Istanbul, in the Gebze district. A family of five, all local residents, was trapped under the debris.
In the operation to rescue people from the rubble, 375 rescuers are participating. For safety reasons, residents of nine neighboring houses were also evacuated.
The causes of the collapse are still unknown. It is known that the building was constructed in 2012, and a pharmacy is located on the first two floors. Two families, totaling seven people, lived in the building.
