During the second day of the exercises, a simulation of an ammonia leak in the chemical workshop was conducted, which allowed the station staff and emergency services to practice their actions in emergency situations related to the release of hazardous substances.
During the practical part of the exercises, the CHPP employees practiced a number of actions:
- operational notification of civil defense services;
- evacuation of personnel from the potential contamination zone;
- localization and elimination of the consequences of a simulated accident;
- providing first aid to the injured.
The organizers note that such exercises allow for assessing the readiness of personnel and emergency services to respond in emergencies, as well as contributing to increasing the level of safety at a key facility in the capital.
