According to county police, most of the monkeys died; however, several individuals are still at large. It is specified that these animals may be infected with various viruses, such as hepatitis C, herpes, and coronavirus.
Law enforcement agencies are urging citizens to be cautious, as the escaped macaques may exhibit aggression and pose a health threat. Residents are strongly advised not to approach them or attempt to catch them.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the owner of the animals, their route, and the causes of the accident.
