A UPS Airlines cargo plane crashed in the United States shortly after taking off from Muhammad Ali International Airport in Louisville, Kentucky. This was reported by AP News.

According to preliminary information, a fire occurred in the left engine of the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 aircraft. This led to a loss of control, resulting in the plane crashing and destroying several buildings, damaging fuel tanks and vehicles. A large fire broke out at the crash site. According to The Guardian, at least seven people were killed in the incident, and 11 were injured to varying degrees.

Local authorities reported a temporary closure of the airport and established a cordon around the site of the tragedy. Residents within an eight-kilometer radius have been advised to stay in their homes.

The causes of the disaster will be investigated by specialists from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
