Witnesses claim that panic broke out on the train: people were pushing and seeking refuge in the restrooms to avoid the attack. One eyewitness told BBC News that he saw a man with a bloodied hand running through the carriage and shouting, "They have a knife!"
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the incident as a "horrific event."
"My thoughts are with the victims," he noted in his message on social media platform X.
The investigation is ongoing, and the police are determining the motives for the crime as well as the identities of the attackers.
