According to the Paris prosecutor's office, two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the high-profile Louvre robbery investigation. Thus, the number of those arrested has increased to seven.

As Prosecutor Laure Becco reported, a 37-year-old man has been charged with theft committed by an organized group, while his 38-year-old alleged accomplice is being considered as an accessory. Both detainees are in custody.

Earlier, five other individuals were arrested during the investigative actions, one of whom was identified through DNA analysis. Three of them were later released without charges.

This week, similar charges were brought against two men aged 34 and 39, living north of the capital. The investigation suggests that they were part of a group of four involved in the theft. The prosecutor's office reports that both provided only "minimal testimony" and partially admitted their guilt.

The incident occurred on October 19, when the criminals stole a necklace and earrings from the collection of Empress Marie-Louise, as well as three pieces from the collections of Queen Maria-Amalia and Dutch Queen Hortense de Beauharnais, along with several items from the collection of Empress Eugenie.

French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez stated that three or four perpetrators participated in the robbery, arriving on scooters and using a construction basket to access the Apollo Gallery. There, they broke into two display cases containing historical jewels.

The investigation is ongoing, and the police are examining possible connections between the detainees and international criminal organizations involved in art and antique thefts.
