At the same time, RTL, citing its sources, reports that "five new suspects have been detained," who were arrested almost simultaneously in different parts of Paris in the evening the day before. The incident at the Louvre occurred on October 19, when two criminals entered the museum and stole nine jewels belonging to French kings and emperors. Their accomplices were waiting for them outside. As a result of the theft, eight pieces of jewelry were taken, with a total value of about €88 million.
Two suspects were arrested by the French police on October 25. One of them was detained at Charles de Gaulle Airport while attempting to fly to Algeria, and the other was arrested in the suburb of Saint-Denis.
