According to information provided by The Telegraph, one of the guards at the Louvre was in contact with the robbers before they committed the jewelry theft.
The investigation suggests that this security employee provided the criminals with information about the museum's security system. According to Paris prosecutor Laure Beccu, the police are currently examining the possibility that the guard actually assisted the criminals.

According to NBC, on the day of the robbery, security personnel did not pay attention to the cherry picker parked near the museum, as such devices are often used for window cleaning.

The criminals, investigators believe, entered the Apollo Gallery through a second-floor balcony that is not visible to surveillance cameras.

Recently, it became known that two suspects have been detained, who may be linked to this theft.

The robbery occurred early in the morning on October 19. As a result, nine pieces of jewelry were stolen, among which particular attention is drawn to the crown of Empress Eugenie, which was damaged during the escape (the crown was later found). The list of stolen items also includes a necklace made of emeralds and diamonds, gifted by Napoleon to his wife Empress Marie-Louise, as well as a diadem adorned with nearly two thousand diamonds, once belonging to Empress Eugenie, and a necklace that belonged to the last Queen of France, Marie Amélie, containing 8 sapphires and 631 diamonds.
