The investigation established that citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, who were part of the group, carried out the illegal import of rice in large volumes along the route "Fergana – Chon-Kara – Kadamjai," violating the existing customs, tax, and border legislation.
According to the developed scheme, rice was purchased on the territory of Uzbekistan, after which it was delivered through the Kadamjai district to the Chon-Kara enclave. The goods were then illegally exported from the territory of the enclave and unloaded in the village of Ak-Turpak, where a local resident accepted it for subsequent sale in the markets of Kyrgyzstan.
At the moment, one of the suspects, a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, is under investigation.
The GKNB continues active efforts to ensure food security and combat smuggling. Operational-search activities are underway to identify other similar crimes in the country.
