According to information from France Inter, the arrest took place on October 25 at the "Roissy-Charles de Gaulle" airport in Paris. It is still unknown what role the arrested individual played in the crime. The investigation suggests that two criminals broke into the Apollo Gallery through a shattered window, destroyed display cases, and stole jewelry, after which they escaped on scooters with the help of their accomplices.

The curator of the Louvre estimated the damage at 88 million euros, which, according to Paris prosecutor Laura Bekka, is an "extremely impressive" sum and has no precedent in history.

Among the stolen items were eight pieces of the French crown jewels, including the tiara of Empress Eugenie, encrusted with nearly two thousand diamonds, as well as a necklace from the sapphire parure of Queen Maria-Amélie and Hortense.

More than 100 employees are involved in the investigation, including specialists in combating banditry and the Central Office responsible for the illegal trafficking of cultural property. This information was provided by the Paris prosecutor in an interview with the Journal du Dimanche.

After the robbery, Louvre director Laurence de Car attempted to resign, but French President Emmanuel Macron did not accept her resignation. She later proposed to enhance security by establishing a police station on the museum's premises, but Interior Minister Laurent Nunez opposed this, pointing out the proximity of an existing police station near the Louvre.

The museum is now reopened to visitors, except for the Apollo Gallery, which remains closed due to ongoing investigative actions.
