At Paris's Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport, one of the suspects in the theft of jewelry from the Louvre was detained while attempting to fly to Algeria, according to information provided by Paris Match.

Four suspects are involved in the investigation of the theft. Two individuals used a cherry picker to access the Apollo Gallery, while the other two assisted in carrying out the theft and ensured an escape on scooters.

This robbery has become one of the boldest and largest in recent times.

As previously reported, the incident occurred early in the morning on October 19. The criminals are still being sought.

As a result of the theft, nine pieces of 19th-century jewelry were stolen, including the crown of Empress Eugenie, which the criminals dropped and damaged while attempting to escape (the crown has been found). The list of stolen items also includes a necklace of emeralds and diamonds, gifted by Napoleon to his wife, Empress Marie-Louise, as well as a diadem belonging to Empress Eugenie, adorned with nearly two thousand diamonds. Additionally, a necklace previously owned by Maria Amalia, the last queen of France, featuring eight sapphires and 631 diamonds, was stolen.
