In Spain, three skiers died in an avalanche in the Pyrenees

On Monday, the Spanish Civil Guard reported a tragic incident in the Pyrenees, where three skiers died as a result of an avalanche. Another woman in the group suffered mild hypothermia. According to RIA Novosti, the event occurred at an altitude of about 2200 meters in the area of the Panticosa resort, located in the province of Huesca.

A group of six skiers had come from the Basque Country for ski touring when they were hit by a snow avalanche.

As reported in the guard's post on the social network X, "as a result of the incident, two men and one woman died, while another woman sustained minor injuries. Two other members of the group remained unharmed."

The bodies of the deceased remain at the site of the tragedy and will be transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine of Huesca. The woman who was rescued from under the snow was hospitalized at San Jorge Hospital with a diagnosis of hypothermia.
