According to information from residents, the incident happened on December 19 at 6:00 PM. A 68-year-old woman was returning home from the hospital and was crossing the road at the crosswalk when there was fog on the street, significantly reducing visibility.
As a result of being hit by a vehicle traveling on the road, the woman sustained serious injuries and died at the scene.
According to local residents, the section of the Bishkek — Kara-Balta highway is very dangerous for pedestrians. Drivers often do not reduce their speed and pay no attention to pedestrian crossings. In their opinion, allowing children to go to school in this area is extremely risky.
Furthermore, it is reported that last year, an elderly man died at the same spot along with his grandson, and this year, a pregnant woman was killed. In light of this situation, residents are requesting the installation of traffic lights at the pedestrian crossing and the implementation of additional measures to ensure safety.
