A video capturing the moment of the collision has become available on social media.
According to information from the Traffic Safety Department of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui region, a fatal traffic accident occurred near the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
“A sergeant from one of the military units, born in 2000 and named Zh.U.N., was driving a Toyota Highlander crossover while moving along the Central Street of the village. His fellow servicemen were in the vehicle,” the agency reported.
Preliminary data indicates that the soldier attempted to overtake but lost control and struck a local resident, J.K.D., born in 1960, who was standing on the roadside watching the work of an excavator engaged in municipal work.
After the impact, the vehicle collided with the excavator.
Unfortunately, the man died at the scene. Additionally, three people in the crossover sustained injuries,” the statement added.
